Stylised Sci-fi Spacesuit
Rigged spacesuit/sci-fi armor made in Blender.
Parts were first sculpted, and then recreated using a subdivision modifier for variable resolution; all the unsubdivided meshes are included in a separate file.
All the materials are made procedurally using shader nodes.
The model is fully rigged and also includes an IK rig. Its parts deform as solid objects, except for joints, pants, and torso. There is also a separate controller for the headlights in the form of an empty object.
*The pants part of the armature wasn't my original idea - I've watched a YouTube tutorial on how to make this region work without me doing manual weight painting (because - like every non-alien being - I hate doing it) and must say, it worked better than expected :-)
